Storytelling is present and central to every culture, serving many purposes including education, entertainment and character development. At Plato Learning Academy, our mission is to reinvigorate reading education by blending literacy, imaginative play and design thinking to increase reading interest and skill. Our programs enlist a combination of story-based tactics to maximize the engagement children have with the world.
At Plato Academy, learning is a lifelong adventure.
Getting kids to love reading can be a Herculean effort. Our talented and dedicated staff stand ready to labor. We grow from a core year-round leadership team to an army of part-time/seasonal staff comprised of talented teachers, teaching artists, performers, college students and recent graduates, all of whom share our philosophy and commitment to kids.
Our teachers and students tell us there’s a certain magic in everything we do.
Our TA’s are as unique and talented as the students they serve at Plato’s afterschool programs, but something they all have in common is a love for stories and adventure, and the ability to inspire kids to share that love.
